Officially Barcelona reveals why the Neymar deal failed

Barcelona have revealed why they failed to sign former Brazilian star Neymar da Silva from Paris St Germain.

"We worked very hard during the summer to sign Neymar," said Oscar Grau, executive director of the club.

"We made two serious offers to sign him, with and without players, but eventually we found that PSG did not want to sell the player in any way."

"We are not expected to sign a player in January, although everything remains possible in the end," said Grau.
