The German club Schalke 04 has officially announced, through its website, the appointment of Swiss Christian Gross, as coach of the team, until the end of the season.
"Christian Gross has shown in both Germany and England that he is able to successfully meet challenges like this," said Jochen Schneider, Head of Sports and Communication at Schalke.
"Christian Gross will give the team clear instructions and put us on the right path with its unwavering expectations. We are certain of that," he added.
He continued: "We have to be oriented towards our goal, working to achieve results. I want to feel the enthusiasm of the players at all times. We need a good atmosphere in and around the team to succeed again."
Gross has led many clubs, most notably Stuttgart, Germany, Tottenham Hotspur, England, Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia, Egyptian Zamalek, Swiss Basel, Grasshopper Zurich and Yang Boys.
