Real Madrid announced today, Tuesday, that its former star Iker Casillas has joined the club's management as deputy CEO.
"Iker Casillas is one of Real Madrid's legends, and he represents the values of our club and he is the best goalkeeper in our history," the club's statement read.
And he continued: "Iker Casillas has won 19 titles during the 25 years in which he defended our shirt: 3 European Cups, 3 World Club Cups, 2 European Super Cups, 5 Leagues, 2 King's Cups and 4 Spanish Super Cups, and in Portugal, with Porto, He won the league twice, one cup and the Super Cup. "
He added, "With the Spanish national team, he played 167 matches and won the World Cup once, the European Cup twice and the World U-20 Cup.
He concluded: His sporting career and his human dimension were honored with prestigious awards such as the Prince of Asturias Award for Sport, the Royal Sports Order of Merit, the Gold Medal of the Royal Order of Sports Merit and the Gold Medal from the Community of Madrid.
