France Football announces a new award at the Golden Ball ceremony

France Football magazine announced on Thursday the details of the 2019 Golden Ball award ceremony, which is held annually in the capital Paris.

The magazine pointed out that it decided to award a new award, the Golden Ball for the best goalkeeper in the world, under the name of the "Yashin Award" for the legendary goalkeeper of the former Soviet Union team Lev Yashin.

France Football has four awards: the Golden Ball for men, the Golden Ball for women, the Cuba award for best young player, and the Yashin Award for best goalkeeper.

Former France and Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba has been named as an ambassador and presenter for the 2019 award.

The French magazine pointed out that the announcement of the names of candidates will be on October 21, through official accounts on social networking sites "France Football" and "L'Equipe".

The awards were set for December 2 as the date for the prizes to be presented at the famous "Chatelet" theater in Paris.
