The International Weightlifting Federation announced today, Saturday evening, that the Thai and Malaysian lifters were suspended and not participating in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
And the International Weightlifting Federation issued an official statement through its website, affirming that the suspension decision came after it was proven that both Thai and Malaysian players were abusing doping, pointing out that this decision will not change regardless of changing the date of the Tokyo Olympics.
The Olympic Committee announced the postponement of the start of the Tokyo Olympics due to the spread of the Corona virus, as it is expected to start from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
The International Federation decided to impose a fine on the Thai Federation of 200 thousand dollars, in addition to suspending its activities for 3 years.
